FAQ's

Base is coming from reputed Western European Mills.
Clad Part from Sweden/USA/Japan. Only bonding takes place in India.
Explosion bonding is a cold welding process and doesn't affect original properties of parent
Material. So the final Product is same as that of originally generated from approved Mill.

As explained above, when parent material is coming from approved Vendor and there is no change in properties logically, approval is not applicable. However in case Client insists we can give enough credential to support our claim.

Yes many like PDO, G ASCO, SABIC, PETRONAS, ONGC, SHELL & PERTAMINA.

Our success rate is 97% i.e out of 100 plates we can get 3 plates with weak bonded area which can be repaired as per approved procedure. ICEM is an ASME 'U' stamp holder and authorized to conduct such repair.

Explosion Cladding is better as we get much higher shear strength than Roll bonding. So while Pressing (Dished End forming) and Rolling Explosion Clad Plates sustain better whereas in case of Roll Bonded Plates you may end up with de-bonding after Pressing &/or Rolling. Also Explosion Bonding Plates can be supplied one piece of one thickness whereas in case of Roll Bonding we may have to buy at least two plates per thickness/size to satisfy Mill's production line. Explosion Bonding can cover almost all combination of material whereas Roll Bonding has some constraints.

Explosion bonding is costlier in smaller base thicknesses however in case of higher (≥ 30MM) base thicknesses Explosion bonding is cheaper.

Yes. Explosion bonding is faster and we can offer delivery ex-works within 6 weeks.
